SubOceanic carries out an Outfall Pipeline inspection at McCauley Point, Vancouver Island for Komex International, with particular attention to an area of damage requiring repair. | | September 2004 | SubOceanic provides ROV support to Can Dive Construction on the McCauley Point outfall pipeline for the damage repair operation. The ROV locates and attaches a downline to the damaged area of pipeline for the divers. On the 23rd of September SubOceanic Services Inc. joined with Ocean Dynamics Canada Ltd. as shareholding partners and the new company was registered as SubOceanic Sciences Canada Ltd. The head office is in Campbell River with the second workshop and office remaining in Duncan. | | October 2004 | ROV searches with Tritech Sonar for sunken Drag Racing boat in Seton Lake near Lillooet, BC. SubOceanic exhibits at the Ocean Technology Exhibition, Victoria and demonstrates the Falcon in the Victoria Waterfront to clients. SubOceanic carries out a series of Fish Farm Mooring Inspections to depths of 260 meters near Powell River at Ahlstrom and Culloden. SubOceanic proceeds to the Scott Islands aboard the Leader Fishing Trawler 'Viking Storm' to locate & recover, in 73m of seawater, a lost trawl door with a transponder attached. In late October SubOceanic carries out a series of Fish Farm Mooring Inspections to 237m in the Powell River area at Ahlstrom and Culloden. | | November 2004 | Acting on behalf of the Underwriters, SubOceanic proceeds to an area offshore of Thormanby Island to search for the Tug Vessel 'M.V. Manson' lost with two crew while tandem towing two barges. The ROV followed the Tug's tow wire from the surface can buoys, 274m to the seabed. The tug was no longer attached to the tow wire. Another project completed by SubOceanic entailed the successful locating and salvage of over 100 meters of new anchor chain lost off Port Hardy in 55m of water. | | December 2004 | SubOceanic carries out a Seaeye Falcon training course at the Nanaimo Pacific Biological Station for four Ocean Dynamics Personnel. SubOceanic carries out seabed probing and Biophysical Seabed Profiling of an area in the Nanaimo Estuary for a large Vancouver Environmental Consultant. SubOceanic proceed to the Princess Louisa Inlet and dived the Falcon to 287 meters to carry out a power cable crossing route survey. This seabed survey was carried out in preparation for the laying of a power cable in May 2005 to the Malibu Club. SubOceanic will be providing ROV support services on this cable lay project next year. At the close of December SubOceanic mobilizes to Lake Prosperous, NWT near Yellow Knife to carry out the locating of a single axle truck with snow plough and crane that had gone through the ice, into 88m of water with its driver. During this operation the Falcon attaches a 1 ½" lifting wire to the truck. The Falcon opens both truck doors in under 15 minutes utilizing home made tooling. The Falcon subsequently locates the body of the driver on the lakebed and recovers him to the surface. Temperatures encountered were minus 34 degrees Celsius. |
